A Few Apps That May Help You Protect The Environment And Recognise What You See!

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share a few apps that have helped me in my mission to be as plastic free as possible and recognising plants and birds. They are all 100% free!

The first app we have already mentioned- Refill. It is one of my personal favourites. It was originally made to tell you where you can Refill your water bottle for free when out and about but they have recently expanded to showing shops you can refill your coffee, buy loose products and other functions I haven't got the hang of yet! You can set a reminder to a certain time so you remember to walk out the door with your water bottle. It is all in an effort to reduce the amount of plastic bottles we purchase. At the moment it isn't as useful as usually though as we aren't going anywhere!

This is where you can purchase your own
refillable pots and mugs and set a reminder.

The second app is called PlantNet. It is a really good app where you can scan a plant and it will tell you what it is. Here are a screenshot of it. It clearly shows everything and I highly recommend.

The camera is for recording
your findings and the person is your profile.
I haven't really explored the others.

The final app I want to share is BirdNet which recognises birds you hear. There are lots of extra features too, detailed below.

Hi everyone, 41. Ghost shark So first of all, this is a real animal and not a horror movie! Ghost sharks, often referred to as chimaeras, include around 50 species. They mostly live in the deep ocean and are seldom seen, hence the name. They can be found all over the world. Major ocean currents and how they affect global temperatures

Hi everyone, This week we're talking about ocean currents. Ocean currents are part of the ocean's circulation system and influence local and global weather patterns. They are produced by gravity, differences in water density, winds on the ocean surface and Earth's rotation on its own axis. They cause the movements and exchanges of different ocean properties such as salinity, temperature and nutrients. Ocean currents can flow at speeds of up to 4m per second however most flow at speeds between 5cm and 50cm per second. Weather patterns and ocean currents constantly influence one another. Ocean currents follow similar paths as global wind do, transferring heat from the equator to polar regions. They create and influence ecosystems worldwide, especially marine ones. Hi everyone, Today's topic is a rather controversial one: is killing invasive species necessary? We'll take it apart for you to come up with your own opinion. Enjoy! Definition Firstly, let's clarify what an invasive species is. An invasive species is a species that is not native and most likely causes harm to the ecosystem where it now lives. This does not include animals that migrate to another area. Why is it a problem? Depending on the species and the ecosystem, invasive species can cause a lot of harm to their surroundings.
