Hi Everyone!
Today I wanted to talk about what you should do if your house plants do not look healthy, and how important it is to be flexible around looking after house plants, how changing plans can be very important in keeping your house plants healthy. By not healthy, I mean a plant that has yellowed leaves, dried leaves or is looking droopy.
Recently, some of my plants haven't been doing so well either, which has been very frustrating. Here are a few things I am doing to try to change this.
**Disclaimer: I am not an expert. I am just a passionate plant mum from Somerset, England and I just want to share some tips. **

1. Research, research, research
I've been collecting information on each of my house plants and trying to
match the recommendations for each of the plants. I recently visited Tresco
Abbey Gardens on the Isles of Scilly, and I bought a book about how to look
after house plants, which I have been using, but the internet is a treasure
trove of information too - although this can be contradictory sometimes!
2. Change something
Sometimes you just need to do it, and change something about your care of a
house plant. I recently moved a bench where my plants were to a different
location in my room, and I'm hoping the levels of light will be better there
for some of my plants.
3. Be patient
Yes, I'm serious. As we go through the different seasons, the plants may also
go through different stages and often there is no need to panic. For example,
if a plant loves bright direct sunlight but you live in the UK and it's been
grey for the last two weeks, then your house plant probably won't be looking
it's finest! Often, plants may sort themselves out if given the time, so don't
panic at the first sight of a slightly yellowed leaf.
4. Soil is important!!
If you've tried most of the above and nothing is working then maybe adding
some nutrients to the soil will be helpful. Plants require a range of
nutrients and if there is a deficiency the house plant will often suffer.
Think about adding some compost to your house plant pot to give it a boost.
I hope you have found this article informative, and that you now know what to
do if a house plant is not looking healthy. Thank you so much for joining me,
and we will be back very soon!
